What is fair trade? •      Fair trade guarantee •     Social development premiums •      Assistance to producer •     Certifications

Fair trade is an alternative way of trading which seeks to ensure a fair relationship between producers and consumers. It means that producers receive a fair price for their products, workers get a fair wage for what they do and work under decent working conditions; in turn, producers are required to comply with social and environmental standards. Fair Trade also provides a social development premium (amount of money) which is invested in projects that enhance social development in the producers’ communities.
